  • Project Supervisor

    Construction Project Supervisor oversees construction crews in the shop and on job sites. Construction Project Supervisor's responsibilities include monitoring performance, making recommendations for improvement, and educating all staff on safety. Manage projects to stay within budget and ensure required materials and equipment are available.


    Demonstrate a sound understanding of safety regulations, underground excavation practices, and be able to transfer this knowledge to your team. Identify problems and find feasible solutions to them.

  • Foreman

    Construction Foreman is required to coordinate operations and oversee workers at construction sites. As the point of reference of both workers and supervisors, the Foreman will be key in the completion of a project.


    Construction Foreman requires a solid background in underground excavation in the field. Leadership skills, the ability to direct the work of others, and make quick decisions.

  • Equipment Operator

    Equipment Operator is proficient in the operations of underground utility equipment (ex. horizontal directional drill, vibratory plow, excavators, skid steer). Must possess excavation knowledge on OSHA regulations and safe excavation practices – benching, shoring, and excavating around live underground utilities.


    Works closely with the Foreman on identifying potential hazards in excavation and conducts job site analysis. Often fills in for the Foreman when the Foreman is required to be off site.

  • Laborer

    Laborer will participate in a variety of construction projects and follow construction plans and instructions from the site Foreman and Supervisor.


    Position requires Laborer to work well as part of a team, enjoy working outdoors, and be able to perform strenuous physical tasks, lifting up to 50lbs.

  • Locator

    Utility Locator is proficient in locating, identifying, and marking the paths of cables, pipes, and other underground conduits that carry utilities before the start of construction to protect from damage during excavation projects. Must possess knowledge of underground utility locating equipment.


    Communicates with the Foreman and crews of located utilities at job sites via the Uniform Color Code and brightly colored pennants. As the Utility Locator often works alone, the employee is expected to exercise considerable self-initiation to 

    complete the work and be comfortable with and available for travel.

  • Fiber Splicer

    Fiber Splicer is proficient in connecting, rearranging, repairing, and maintaining outside cable, including copper, fiber, and coax, to supply and maintain good connective service. Must have the ability to work aloft (up to 50 ft.) in a bucket truck, ladder, and/or climb utility poles. Comfortable working outdoors and in inclement weather conditions with the ability to work emergency jobs including nighttime splicing and overtime as needed.


    Completes daily production reports to document work performed/materials used. Operates and performs work in a bucket truck (man-lift experience is a plus). As the Fiber Splicer often works alone, the employee is expected to exercise considerable self-initiation to complete the work and be available for travel.

Position Responsibilities/Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Ensure teams work together to deliver quality work on strict deadlines

• Monitor construction processes and provide training/team building sessions as required

• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations at all times

• Perform routine safety audits at job sites on all equipment and materials

• Schedule regular meetings with vendors, site inspectors, managers, subcontractors, and staff

• Write reports, budgets, project plans, and present them to relevant stakeholders

• Collaborate closely with architects and other professionals

• Stay up to date with safety codes and advancements in construction

• Process paperwork and travel to multiple sites as required


Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Proficient with reading and translating design prints, as-built maps, locate tickets, and permits

• Experience in underground utility construction, leadership experience

• Valid driver's license

• Translate and troubleshoot design prints, locate tickets, and permits

• Excellent organizational and leadership skills

• Ability to communicate and report effectively, problem solving abilities

• Good physical condition and stamina

Responsibilities:

• Ensure maintenance/safe operation of the assigned equipment

• Work closely with Foreman and crew

• Ability to identify underground utilities and the underground utility locate markings

• Understand and interpret safe excavation practices on assigned projects

• Upon qualifying for a DOT Medical Card, assist and operate combinations of commercial vehicles and trailers over 10,000 lbs

• Additionally, if operating commercial vehicle and trailer combinations over 26,000 lbs, drivers are required to have and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a tanker endorsement, per FMCSA/DOT guidelines


Requirements:

• Proven experience as a utility construction Equipment Operator

• In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA/FMCSA/DOT guidelines

• Translate and troubleshoot design prints, locate tickets, and permits

• Excellent organizational and leadership skills

• Ability to communicate and report effectively, problem solving abilities

• Good physical condition and stamina

Responsibilities:

• Prepare construction sites, materials, and tools

• Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment

• Remove debris/garbage and conduct restoration at work sites

• Assemble and break down barricades and temporary structures

• Upon qualifying for a DOT Medical Card, assist and operate combinations of commercial vehicles and trailers over 10,000 lbs

• Additionally, if operating commercial vehicle and trailer combinations over 26,000 lbs, drivers are required to have and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a tanker endorsement, per FMCSA/DOT guidelines

• Regulate traffic and erec traffic signs, per MUTCD guidelines

• Follow all health and OSHA 1926 Construction Safety standards and regulations

• Dig potholes, trench, and perform other underground excavation work


Requirements:

• No formal qualification is required, although a High School diploma may be preferred

• Similar work experience may be beneficial

• Willingness to undertake training when necessary

• Be able to work in a team setting as part of a construction crew

• Be healthy, strong, and fit

Responsibilities:

• Identify and map location/depth of utilities such as water, sewer, gas, cable, oil, electric, telephone, fiber optic, etc.

• Assist in the placing of OSP facilities: including aerial, bury, and underground facilities

• Document detailed site information and work performed

• Complete stand-by, meet, emergency, and on-call locates quickly and professionally

• Translate and troubleshoot design prints, locate tickets, and permits


Requirements:

• Proven experience as a utility construction Utility Locator

• Valid DOT Medical Card to operate a commercial vehicle (10,000 lbs. or under)

• In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, OSHA, and FMCSA/DOT guidelines

• Excellent organizational and leadership skills

• Ability to communicate and report effectively, problem solving abilities

• Good physical condition and stamina

• Personal computer (PC) experience and experience using electronic locating devices is desirable

Responsibilities:

• Splices, repairs, rearranges, and terminates cable facilities

• Installs required splice capsules and hardware

• Tests fiber using Optical Time Domain (OTDR) and fusion splicing equipment for single and ribbon fiber

• Maintains existing plant without causing signal failure interruptions

• Possess knowledge of cable size, gauge, count, and colors of cable direction

• Operates construction equipment or manually excavates, as needed


Requirements:

• Proven experience as a utility construction Fiber Splicer

• Valid DOT Medical Card to operate a commercial vehicle (10,000 lbs. or under)

• In-depth knowledge of construction prints, splice schematics, and telecommunications network structure

• Excellent organizational and leadership skills

• Personal computer (PC) experience and familiarity with Microsoft platforms (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
